

I visited Ben Syroka to film just the opening clip that you see in this video for the “Champions Of” video. We shot so much footage that I was able to put this video together that has done well across social platforms!
After winning the University’s first team national championship in Softball in June of 2023, Trine’s Men’s Basketball won itself a national championship in the March of 2024. This video uses the “champions of” theme to show how Trine is more than just national champions in softball and basketball, but in growth, academics, innovation and service.

Whether you’re giving back to Engineering, donating to the Trine Fund or Books and Beyond or to your favorite athlete on the field, we can all come together to make a difference.

Keynote speaker Bo Jackson, famed multisport professional athlete, shared personal and heartful stories about childhood hardships, receiving his first pair of shoes, his path to professional athletics, losing his mother, being a dad and grandfather and a question-and-answer session. He challenged the audience and students to always strive to reach the next level and encouraged them to live life to the fullest by giving back.
No matter the age, where you’re from, grade level, job title, sport you play, organization you’re a part of, classes you take, or how you interact with this community, we can all agree on one thing… Trine University has added value to this community, country, world and all of ours lives.

The Center draws from renowned Trine University programs and courses to provide the broadest range of sports-related academic majors, minors, courses, internships and personalized experiences to prepare Trine students for this fast-growing and developing industry.
Somewhere between Carl’s search for a brighter future and Trine’s continuous search for students with potential, their paths crossed and a life-changing connection was made. Once he got here he found a different kind of family, filled with teachers, coaches, teammates and friends, all focused on one thing – helping Trine students succeed. But first, he had to get here. And because of the generosity of people he didn’t even know, he got here and then he made the most of it. It’s simple.
