Artificial Intelligence Maritime Maneuver, Indiana Collegiate Challenge hosted by Trine University
The Artificial Intelligence Maritime Maneuver Indiana Collegiate Challenge event created by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division provided a unique opportunity for Indiana Schools to compete in multiple disciplines of engineering. Competitors spent the entire school year developing boats to navigate a points system that included seven different challenges. Notre Dame won the course challenge portion of the competition and ended as the overall grand champion, of The inaugural Artificial Intelligence Maritime Maneuever, Indiana Collegiate Challenge event. Trine University took top honors in the technical design report and project presentation categories. AIMM ICC not only allowed the students to work on a real-world challenge with potential applications for rescue and drug interdiction, it provided the opportunity to network with defense contractors. As a result of their work on the project, five Trine students have accepted full-time positions with NWSC Crane after graduation.
